Easing Into Chapter 2025

Easing Into Chapter 2025

It’s already mid-January, and I'm not sure if you can relate but, I've had no other choice but to ease into this New Year 2025.  Am I the only one that feels a little foggy? I can already feel the weight so many of us put on ourselves to “start big.” The new year arrives like a drumbeat, urging us to do more, achieve more, and somehow, be more. But can we take a breath? Can we choose to step into this new chapter with a little more gentleness?

This year, I’m reminding myself—and I want to remind you—to let your intentions be light, your plans flexible, and your heart open to whatever unfolds. There’s beauty in simply being. Honoring your rhythm, moving at your own pace, and resisting the urge to measure your progress against anyone else’s timeline are acts of self-love.

After watching the Golden Globe Awards highlights the other week, I was struck by the humility and grace of women like Demi Moore and Zoe Saldana, two accomplished, radiant actresses who, despite their success, admitted to wrestling with their sense of worth. To see women who are icons in their own right still humbled by recognition and success reminds me of a universal truth: the world will always have a way of making us question if we’re enough.

But what stood out even more was the way they embraced this new chapter in their lives. As seasoned women, mothers, wives, and artists, they’re stepping into a space where they no longer have to prove themselves—but simply be themselves. They’re embracing their worth at this stage of their journey, and they’re thriving in ways they never expected. Their stories are a powerful reminders that it’s never too late to begin again, to rediscover yourself, and to be celebrated for who you are right now.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to hit the ground running this year or if you are falling into comparing what someone else's journey looks like to yours, I want to tell you something: your journey is your journey and It’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to move at your own pace. It’s okay to feel like you don’t have it all figured out. You are not defined by how fast you achieve your goals or by anyone else’s timeline.

This year, let’s commit to being gentle with ourselves. Let’s honor the woman we are today, not compare who we are to anyone else, and not use a measuring stick to qualify who we are--We are enough! Simply being is enough!

Let’s trust that every small, intentional step we take matters. So, take the pressure off. Start where you are, work with what you have, and let the journey unfold.

Here’s to a year of light intentions, flexible plans, and open hearts. You’ve got this, at your own pace, in your own way, in your own time.

With love, grace & blessings,

Sunni D.
